Career Partners International (“CPI”) is committed to respecting the privacy of the users of the CPI Portal web site (the “CPI Portal Site”) as well as the users of all of the web sites owned or operated by CPI and its partner firms (collectively, the “CPI Sites”). We strive to provide a safe, secure user experience. This Privacy Statement sets forth the online data collection and usage policies and practices that apply to the CPI Portal Site. By using the CPI Portal Site, you consent to the policies and practices described in this Privacy Statement.

Your data will be stored and processed in whole or in part in the United States . If you access the CPI Portal Site outside the United States , your usage of the site constitutes consent to the transfer of your data out of your country and to the United States .

The CPI Portal Site contains links to other Web sites over which we have no control. CPI is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of other Web sites to which you choose to link from a CPI Web site. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those other Web sites so you can understand how they collect, use and share your information. This Privacy Statement applies solely to the information we collect on the CPI Portal Site, and does not apply to information we collect in any other fashion.


Collection and Retention of Information

In some areas of the CPI Portal Site, CPI requests or may request that you provide personal information, including your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, credit card number, contact information, billing information and any other information from which your identity is discernible. In other areas, CPI collects or may collect demographic information that is not unique to you such as your ZIP code, age, preferences, gender, interests and favorites. Sometimes we collect or may collect a combination of the two types of information.

In addition, CPI may indirectly collect information about you when you use certain third party services on the CPI Portal Site. Such information will be subject to, and treated in accordance with, the policies and practices described in this Privacy Statement.

We also gather or may gather certain information about your use of the CPI Portal Site, such as what areas you visit and what services you access. Moreover, there is information about your computer hardware and software that is or may be collected by CPI. This information can include without limitation your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring Web site addresses.

CPI may sometimes afford you the opportunity to provide descriptive, cultural, behavioral, preferential and/or life style information about yourself, but it is solely up to you whether you furnish such information. If you do provide such information, you are thereby consenting to the use of that information in accordance with the policies and practices described in this Privacy Statement. For example, such information may be used for the purpose of determining your potential interest in receiving e-mail or other communications about particular products or services.

Please remember that if you post any of your personal information in public areas of the CPI Portal site, such as in online forums, such information may be collected and used by others over whom CPI has no control. We are not responsible for the use made by third parties of information you post or otherwise make available in public areas of the CPI Portal site.

Since we believe that managing your career and professional network is a life-long process, we retain indefinitely all the information we gather about you in an effort to make your repeat use with us more efficient, practical, and relevant . Of course, you can correct or update your CPI Portal Account information, Profile and Billing Account information at any time. Moreover, you can delete the personal information you have submitted from our online database or close your CPI Portal Account at any time.


Use of Information by CPI

We use the information we gather on the CPI Portal Site, whether personal, demographic, collective or technical, for the purpose of operating and improving the CPI Portal Site, fostering a positive user experience, and delivering the products and services that we offer.

We may also use the information we gather to inform you of other products or services available from CPI or its affiliated companies or to contact you about your opinion of current products and services or potential new products and services that may be offered. (The term "affiliated companies" is defined in the section of this Statement entitled "Contact Information.")

We may use your contact information in order to send you e-mail or other communications regarding updates to the CPI Portal Site, such as new career opportunities which may be of interest to you. The nature and frequency of these messages will vary depending upon the information we have about you. In addition, during the process of completing a registration for a CPI Portal Account, you have the option to elect to receive additional communications, and information including without limitation free informational newsletters from CPI relating to topics that may be of special interest to you.

We have an area where you can submit feedback. Any feedback you submit in this area becomes our property, and we can use such feedback (such as success stories) for marketing purposes, without attribution, or contact you for further information and release.


Disclosure of Information to Others

We do not disclose to third parties your personal information, combined personal and demographic information or information about your use of the CPI Portal Site (such as the areas you visit or the services you access), except as set forth in the following four subparagraphs.

  1.    Upon your registration in the networking portion of the CPI Portal and the posting of your Profile, we will allow searches of certain portions of your Profile information by other registered Networking Members of the CPI Portal for personal and professional Portal purposes, including networking. We release the following information to assist the networking process: first name and first initial of your last name; most recent company from which you have left; job function; industry; your city, state/province, country, and postal code. In addition, if you provide the following information, we also release it: other companies you have/are working for with city/state/country; universities attended; primary and secondary languages; and your brief bio.   You may choose whether to release your information locally or across all CPI Affiliates. Your access to other Networking Members will be consistent with your decision, that is if you decide to release the information only locally, you will not have access to Networking Members in other CPI Affiliate locations.
  2.    We may disclose such information to companies and individuals we employ to perform functions on our behalf. Examples may include providing career assistance, hosting our Web servers, analyzing data, processing credit card payments, and providing customer service. These companies and individuals will have access to your personal information as necessary to perform their functions, but they may not share that information with any other third party.
  3.    We may disclose such information if legally required to do so, if requested to do so by a governmental entity or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process; (b) protect the rights or property of CPI or its affiliated companies; (c) prevent a crime or protect national security; or (d) protect the personal safety of users or the public.
  4.    CPI may also share aggregated anonymous information about visitors to the CPI Portal Site (for example, the number of visitors to the CPI Portal Site) with its clients, partners and other third parties so that they may understand the kinds of visitors to the CPI Portal Site and how those visitors use the site.

We attempt to limit access to our searchable Profiles (or copies thereof) only to registered Networking Members of the CPI Portal Site, as well as law enforcement and national security agencies, but cannot guarantee that other parties will not gain access to this database. We are not responsible for the use made of Profiles by third parties who access such Profiles while they are in our searchable database. You may remove your Profile from our searchable database at any time. However, registered Networking Members, and others who have been provided CPI Portal services, as well as parties who have otherwise gained access to the database, may have retained a copy of your Profile in their own files or databases. We are not responsible for the retention, use or privacy of Profiles in these instances.


Use of Cookies

CPI uses "cookies" to help personalize and maximize your online experience and time online. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard drive by a Web page server. Cookies are not used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to your computer, and can only be read by a Web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize CPI pages, or register for services, a cookie helps us to recall your specific information (such as user name, password and preferences). Because of our use of cookies, we can deliver faster and more accurate results and a more personalized site experience. When you return to the CPI Portal Site, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the features that you customized. We also use cookies to track click streams and for load balancing.

You may have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline all cookies if you prefer. Alternatively, you may be able to modify your browser setting to notify you each time a cookie is tendered and permit you to accept or decline cookies on an individual basis. Updating Your Information

You may review, correct, update or change your Networking profile information at any time. Simply log into the Online Career Center, go to the My Profile section of the Networking Homepage, review your account information and, if you wish, edit it with the options provided. Security

CPI has implemented reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration or disclosure. However, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat those measures or use your personal information for improper purposes

Your personal information is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer ("SSL") protocol. SSL makes it difficult for your personal or credit card information to be intercepted or stolen while being transmitted.


Children

CPI Portal is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.


Changes to Privacy Statement

If we decide to change our Privacy Statement for CPI, we will post those changes here so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information, and to whom we will disclose it. What is Personal Information?

Personal information means information about an identifiable individual, but does not include name, title or business contact information (e.g. address, e-mail, telephone) of an employee of an organization.

Personal information is information that can be explicitly used to identify or contact you as an individual. (e.g. name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card number).

Personal information is collected by CPI only when you specifically and knowingly choose to receive information or services from CPI or its associate companies. You will be informed that your personal information is being collected, the purpose for which it is being collected and that you have a right of access to the information.

We may also receive personal information from our business associates and other third parties provided that such third parties confirm to us that they have obtained your consent to the disclosure of your personal information.

Information We Collect

We collect personally identifying information, such as your name, street address, email address, and phone number, and any other information you provide to us.

CPI Portal is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

Demographic and profile data is collected at our site. We use this data to tailor our visitor's experience at our site, showing them content that we think they might be interested in, and display the content according to their preferences.

CPI may make aggregate information about our users available to third parties for the purposes of marketing, advertising and other beneficial services. The information gathered on the CPI Portal Site and any other CPI Web Site may be shared within CPI, Inc. and its Associate Companies acting on our behalf, who are subject to confidentiality agreements.

Registration

When you register for services using the CPI Career Portal, CPI will request personal information from you, including your name and email address. Some of the information requested from you during registration is optional, and is clearly identified on the site.

Information collected by CPI as part of the log-in/registration is NOT made accessible to the public, other users of the site or anyone not employed by CPI directly.

This information is held in strict confidence and can be removed at your request at any time.

Your personal information is used to communicate with you about your account and to provide you with information related to CPI services. We may use your contact information in order to send you e-mail or other communications regarding updates to the CPI Portal Site, such as new career opportunities which may be of interest to you. The nature and frequency of these messages will vary depending upon the information we have about you.

You have the option to elect to receive additional communications, and information including without limitation free informational newsletters from CPI relating to topics that may be of special interest to you. You always have the option, however, to tell us not to share your personal information with other CPI Companies or to exclude you from offers for other products or services.

My Account

Personal contact Information is collected (e.g. First Name, Last Name, Address, Home Phone, Work Phone, Email Address and Fax number). You can choose to make this information visible to public in your resume or you may choose for this information to remain private.

Resume Maker

Publishes your career objective, accomplishments, capabilities and job history. You may choose to make the information contained in your resume private or public by clicking in the box provided.

Virtual Career Workbook

Personal assessments of your strengths and interests, individually selected for you by your CPI career consultant. Including resume builder and Interactive exercises. This information may be shared with your CPI career consultant if you choose.

My Daybook

Allows you to access your calendar, email, contact lists and discussion forums, and manage all of your documents. You can choose to keep information in your Daybook Private or share it with a Group by clicking the box provided.

Networking Profile

Creating a Network Profile allows you to communicate with other outplacement candidates and outplacement alumni. Upon your registration in the networking portion of the CPI Portal and the posting of your Profile, we will allow searches of certain portions of your Profile information by other registered Networking Members of the CPI Portal for personal and professional Portal purposes, including networking.

We release the following information to assist the networking process:

·            first name and first initial of your last name;

·            most recent company from which you have left;

·            job function; industry;

·            your city, state/province, country, and postal code.

If you provide the following information, we also release it:

·            other companies you have/are working for with

·            city/state/country;

·            universities attended;

·            primary and secondary languages; and,

·            your brief biography

Personal information that you volunteer in the networking portion of the CPI Portal is deemed to be in the public domain unless otherwise indicated.


How your Personal Information will be Used

CPI uses the information we gather on the CPI Portal Site, whether personal, demographic, collective or technical, for the purpose of operating and improving the CPI Portal Site, fostering a positive user experience, and delivering the products and services available from CPI or its affiliated companies.

CPI uses the information for:

·            Monitoring information to ensure compliance with Career Partners International policies;

·            Editorial and feedback solicitation purposes;

·            Establishing and maintaining communication, including marketing, advertising and other beneficial services; and,

·            Compliance with federal, state, provincial or municipal laws

·            Personal information that you provide to the CPI Portal site will not be made available to third parties outside of CPI without explicit permission from you. To enable us to more efficiently provide the services you have requested from us, CPI may share aggregated anonymous information about visitors to the CPI Portal Site (for example, the number of visitors to the CPI Portal Site) with its clients, agents and other third parties so that they may understand the kinds of visitors to the CPI Portal Site and how those visitors use the site.

E-Mail Messages / Feedback

Public vs. Private

We attempt to limit access to our searchable Profiles (or copies thereof) only to registered Networking Members of the CPI Portal Site. We are not responsible for the use made of Profiles by third parties who access such Profiles while they are in our searchable database. You may remove your Profile from our searchable database at any time. However, registered Networking Members, and others who have been provided CPI Portal services, as well as parties who have otherwise gained access to the database, may have retained a copy of your Profile in their own files or databases. We are not responsible for the retention, use or privacy of Profiles in these instances.

Once you have created a resume, you will have the option of choosing a Public or Private setting. The Private setting will prevent anyone other than you from viewing your online resume. The Public setting makes your online resume viewable by selected hiring employers. At any time, you may reset the Public setting to “Private.”

Online Forums

Please remember that any personal information that is disclosed in public areas of the CPI Portal Site becomes public information. We recommend that you exercise caution when deciding to disclose any personally identifying information, as it could be collected and used by others over whom CPI has no control. We are not responsible for the use made by third parties of information you post or otherwise make available in public areas of the CPI Portal site.

Information Supplied by Your Browser / Use of Cookies

If you have any questions about the collection, use or disclosure of your personal information by CPI or our agents, you may contact our Privacy Officer. Except in limited circumstances, as specifically provided by applicable privacy legislation, we will tell you whether we hold personal information about you, the source of the information and allow you access to your personal information. We will provide an account of the use that has been made or is being made of the information and the third parties to which it has been disclosed upon request.

CPI will only refuse access to information about you in those circumstances permitted or required by applicable privacy legislation. If access is denied, CPI will provide you with the reasons for the refusal.

Correct/Update/Cancellation of Account

Account Update or Removal

You may review, correct, update or change your Networking profile information at any time. Simply log into the Online Career Center, go to the My Profile section of the Networking Homepage, review your account information and, if you wish, edit it with the options provided. Click here to access your Networking home page.

In the event you have questions about the accuracy of factual information we have collected about you, you will have access to that information in order to verify and update it. If we have disclosed inaccurate information about you to a third party, we will contact the third party in order to correct the information.

Cancellation

At any time, you may access your account to update your personal information by signing-in to the CPI Portal Site. If you would like to be completely removed from our database and no longer receive our services, you may delete your account.
